Jim Clarkson

Jimmy Jack Clarkson was born January 13, 1945, in Davenport, Oklahoma to Everett and Mae Clarkson. Jim passed from this life at the age of 78, with his loving family by his side, on January 18, 2023.

Jim graduated from Davenport High School in 1963 and continued to support his "Bulldogs" throughout his life. After graduation, he was employed by Phillips 66 and soon after enlisted in the Oklahoma National Guard, where he served for six years in the 45th Infantry Brigade.

On June 25, 1965, Jim married his loving wife of 57 years, Kristie Dawson. They built their home in Davenport where they raised their two children, daughter Terri Tislow and son Greg Clarkson.

Jim was very active in his community, serving as a Volunteer Firefighter where he retired after twenty years of service. He was also extremely proud of earning his 32nd Degree Mason in 1997. He became a Lineman for OG&E, where he retired after 29 years.

He enjoyed spending his time with his children in their various activities, such as FFA where they raised and showed sheep. Jim was a coach, role model, and lifelong servant of his community.

Jim is survived by his wife, Kristie, of the home; his daughter, Terri, and husband Kevin Tislow of Chandler; son Greg and wife Yancy Clarkson of Edmond. He took great pride and joy in his grandchildren, Austin Tislow and fiancé Jessica Ray and Jacquelynn Tislow of Chandler; Emma, Avery, and Brynn Clarkson of Edmond; His brother Ben and wife Lois Clarkson of Oklahoma City; Sister-in-law Eugenia Dawson of Washington, D.C.; His four nephews, Weslie Dawson, Gene Dawson, Mike Dawson, and Matt Dawson; three nieces, Cara Wagner, Lisa Ludlam, and Margaret Franklin.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Everett and Mae Clarkson; and brother-in-law Gene Rhea Dawson.
