Jesse Wayne Harlan

Jesse Wayne Harlan, age 87, of McLoud, OK, was born September 5, 1929, in Ardmore, OK. He was the son of Jesse Lee & Opal Ruby (Chandler) Harlan. Jesse Wayne Harlan, or just Wayne as most people know him, passed away April 24, 2017 at the age of 87. Wayne lived a wonderful and full life. He was a man of few words, but deep love. Put these two attributes together, and they made for a very ornery man. His wit was as quick as his charm was strong. His smile could blind the world. Wayne started out his career in the military, serving eight years in the air force. In this time he served as a Sergeant in the Korean War. After he was honorably discharged from the military, his patriotism dictated a career working for the people, and the U.S. Postal Service called his name. He officially retired in the year 1982. Wayne was also a Golden Glove Boxer, he would be proud to tell you his Golden Glove sweater is still packed neatly in a suitcase. He loved the outdoors. He loved to sit on his porch with his binoculars and watch his birds, squirrels, and many more critters pass through his yard, and was more than likely coaxing them onto the porch with a bag of bread! Wayne also absolutely loved to mow. The man probably spent more hours on his mower than he did sleeping. Wayne was loved by many, and will be greatly missed. But the family is assured that the loving man they knew will be watched over by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Wayne is survived by his loving and caring wife, Ellouise Harlan of 56 years. His eldest daughter Linda Ingram and granddaughters Brandy and Jill; his daughter Tammy Harlan, granddaughter Tabitha Tipton & great-grandson Tripp Tipton; his daughter Toni & her husband Terry Jeppe, grandson Nick & his wife Nicole and great-granddaughter River Jeppe, great-grandson James Clark & wife Emily and great-great granddaughter Scarlett; his granddaughter Christi Jeppe, and grandson Jesse Jeppe; his son Scott & his wife Stacey and great-grandson Marshall as well as another one on the way. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Dale Cemetery, Dale, OK. Services are under the direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
