J.B. Dunn

J. B. Dunn was born on February 15, 1936, in Payson, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Thursday, November 15, 2012, in Oklahoma City Oklahoma, at the age of 76. J. B., the son of John and Mary (Warden) Dunn, graduated from Kendrick High School with the class of 1955. Following graduation, he enlisted in U. S. Navy and served until 1959. After his discharge from the Navy, he moved to Houston, Texas where he met the love of his life, Sandy Smiddy. He and Sandy were married on February 15, 1963. They moved to Prague in 1975 and lived there since that time. J. B. was a member of the DAV and the Prague Church Of Christ. He retired from the Rainbo Bakery Corporation as a sales manager in 1991. Following his retirement, he then delivered various newspaper and magazine publications until his health forced his second retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Sandy Dunn of the home; one son and daughter in law,Eric and Lana Dunn, Stafford, VA; one daughter, Kendra Dunn, Prague; one sister:Mary Jo Hicks, Stroud; three grandsons, Matthew Dunn, Bryce Dunn and Jayson Dunn.; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 2:00 PM, at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Prague with Lonnie Hutton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Interment will follow at Paden Cemetery.
