Jasper Goodman

January 20, 1926 — April 14, 2013

Jasper Kenneth Goodman – was born Jan. 20, 1926, in Oklahoma City, OK, to Sylvia Passmore Goodman and George Arthur Goodman. He was the 3rd of 7 children. Jasper married Jackie his life-long love June 5, 1947. Together they shared the amazing journey of life’s joys and sorrows. Jasper’s family were dairy farmers. He worked at the Goodman’s dairy until he was grown. Then he delivered milk for Townley’s dairy, before he went to work for OG & E. Jasper and Jackie sold everything and moved to town after Patti was born. Five short years later they had Chuck. Jasper fondly told stories of his 32 year career at OG & E. He was never ill, and never took all of his vacation time. At the time of his retirement he donated back a years’ worth of sick/vacation leave to others who might need it. His favorite stories were always about his family that he loved and he was so proud of. He loved spending time at Lake Eufaula with his kids. Jackie and Jasper always had an unending argument over who was a better fisherman. He loved to be out on the lake in the boat! Working on cars, building furniture, refurbishing bicycles, volunteering, gardening, country dancing, motorcycling, and traveling were some of his other hobbies. He could build or fix anything. Jasper is survived by his wife of nearly 66 years, Jacqueline Jean Harper Goodman, of the home; brother, Clarence Goodman; sister, Claudine; son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Sandra Goodman, of Moore, OK; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Elmo Swanson of Edmond, OK; grandchildren Lisa and Rick Masters, Matt and Cindy Swanson, and 8 great-grandchildren, Danna, Andy, Bronson, Kilie, Linkoln, Mason, Neeley, Michael, and one great- great granddaughter, Rosalyn, all of Edmond; plus an abundance of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends too numerous to mention, but whom he treasured. Jasper went to Heaven to meet Jesus on April 14, 2013 after a short illness. He was 78 years old, and was truly a blessing to all who knew him and loved him. We will miss him more than words can describe, and we look forward to our eternal reunion.
