Jason Dale Smith

Jason Dale Smith, affectionately known as “Baby J” by his family and friends, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 21. Jason was born on Tuesday, January 21, 2003 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He was the son of Jason and Miranda Smith. Jason grew up in Prague and was a 2021 graduate of Prague High School. Jason was voted the 2021 Prague High School Prom King and “best all around” by his classmates. As a boy, Jason enjoyed coaching little league football with his father and he loved being a part of the Oklahoma Droptynz Baseball Team. Jason spent each summer at the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) summer camp and was a proud “Shambassador” for the MDA and was the face of MDA for many years.

Jason was known for his positive attitude, his big smile and his sense of humor. While his time here was short, he filled those 21 years with adventure, making memories and good food. Jason enjoyed spending time with his friends, he had a large group of dedicated friends and they meant the world to him. Jason also loved spending time with his family the five of them had an incredible bond. Jason also enjoyed playing video games, music and fishing. He had a great passion for food, especially when his Aunt Fe was in the kitchen. Jason was known to come into the kitchen and make sure everything was being cooked correctly. He especially loved pasta, Cajun food and crawfish boils.

Jason enjoyed producing YouTube and TikTok videos with his best friend Kyle Wright. He regularly went on hunting trips with his father. He also enjoyed his regular tattoo sessions, where he envisioned his tattoos and his cousin, Blaine Stapp, brought those visions to life. Jason also loved his dogs dearly, Burreaux and Roux.

Jason was preceded in death by his uncle, Shannon Carpenter; his grandmother, Carolyn Carpenter Welch; his grandfather, Rodger Dale Carpenter; grandparents; great-grandparents, Linda Thompson, Charles Smith Sr and Ollie and Rose Carpenter and his great-aunt, Carolyn Wilson.

Those left to cherish Jason’s memory are, his loving parents, Jason and Miranda Smith; his twin brother, Jalen Smith; his sister, Kayla Smith; his aunts, Ashley Lowery and her husband, Scott, Courtney Martin and her husband, Ryan, Kristy Burdine, Lyndi Stewart, Tamra Smith, Ashlee Black and Treasure Smith; his uncles, Justin Smith and his wife, Miranda and Levi Smith; his grandparents, Charles and Tammy Smith and Kimber and Richard Womack; his Nana, Janie Baker; his God Son, Koben Roach; a host of cousins and other family and large group of supportive and loving friends.
