James Raymond Neighbors was born in Sparks, Oklahoma on December 9, 1915 and departed this life in Tulsa, Oklahoma on May 1, 2004. Raymond was the son of James Ledford Neighbors and Iva Mae Faughn Neighbors. He was married to Georgia Mae Wallis on December 16, 1939. She preceded him in death on December 1, 1980. Raymond was a veteran of World War II, having served courageously with the United States Navy. While in the Navy he was stationed on board the USS Belleau Wood and was commendated for valor and issued the Navy and Marine Corp Medal, American Theatre Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Ribbon, Six stars victory ribbon points and was honorably discharged in 1945. He lived in California and worked as a lumber jack for 27 yeaars. He returned to Prague and worked for Morgan Well Service for 10 years. In 1981 he married Ruth Bailey. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, John Neighbors, Millard Neighbors and George Neighbors and one sister, Ann Logan. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Neighbors, of the home; One son and daughter in law, Ronnie & Margaret Neighbors, Lawton; One step-son and his wife, Ernest & Darlene Dudgeon, McLoud; One step-daughter & her husband, Nancy & Sam Priest, Norman; Four brothers & their wives, Floyd & Dorothy Neighbors, Grand Junction, Colorado, Bud Neighbors, Edmond; Earl & Loraine Neighbors, Edmond, Edgar & Joan Neighbors, Enid; Two sisters, Clara Hiemer, Prague and Vera 'Jackie' McCall, Edmond; 5 grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
