James 'Jim' Monroe Barnett was born on January 31, 1921, in Oklahoma City, OK, and departed this life on Monday, March 7, 2005, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 84. Jim, the son of Ben Homer and Alberta Williams Barnett, was a resident of Oklahoma City. He served his country during World War II as a submarine machinist with the United States Navy. He married Wanda Pauline Ritchie on April 9, 1981, in Meeker, OK. Jim retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company where he worked for many years as an installer. Jim was a member of the Oklahoma City Chapter of the VFW and of the Baptist faith. His parents, one son, 3 sisters, and four brothers preceded Jim in death. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Barnett of the home; son, Robert Wayne Barnett of Kenmore, WA; daughter, Susan Leanne Fletcher of Arlington, TX; brother, Homer O''Neil of Meeker; sister, Nona Neal of Lyons, CO; 8 grandchildren; and 2 great- grandchildren.
