James Melvin Billins, Sr., age 88, of Oklahoma City, OK, was born on August 23, 1922, in Wichita Falls, TX. He was the son of James & Beulah (Ward) Billins. He left this life on Monday, February 21, 2011, in Oklahoma City, OK. James proudly served in the U. S. Army during WW II. He married Ruby O. Webb on December 24, 1941, in Crowder, OK. He worked as an aircraft mechanic at FAA for many years. James was a member and deacon of the Minneha Free Will Baptist Church for 40 years and the Canadian Association of Free Will Baptist. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, yard work and loved all animals, especially dogs & cats. James was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons, Roy & Bobby, 2 brothers, Oliver & Benny, 4 sisters, A.J., Mildred, Louise, & Faye, 1 grandson, Larry Billins. Survivors include his wife, Ruby O. Billins, Oklahoma City, OK; 2 sons & daughter-in-law, James & Margaret Billins, McLoud, OK, Melvin Billins & special friend, Ron Baker, Nicoma Park, OK; daughter & son-in-law, Janice & Ron Roberts, Oklahoma City, OK; 7 grandchildren;11 great-grandchildren;1 great-great-grandson, Kyler Noak and many other relatives and friends. Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, February 25, 2011, at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK. Interment will follow at Dale Cemetery, Dale, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
