James Kevin Cockrell

James Kevin Cockrell was born on April 4, 1956 in Winfield, Kansas and departed this life on January 9, 2020 in Weleekta, Oklahoma at the age 63. Kevin was born to Johnnie and Shirley (Troyer) Cockrell. Kevin liked playing foosball, and enjoyed music and played the drums. Kevin was always the life of the party. He loved to farm and drive cattle. He was a member of the Oklahoma Cattleman’s Association and was also a Boy Scouts Den Leader. He treasured reading his Bible especially the Psalms. Kevin was preceded in death by his father Johnnie Darrell Cockrell. Survivors include son James “Sam” Cockrell and wife Emily of Edmond, Oklahoma; daughter Jacki Miller and husband Tyler of Edmond, Oklahoma; mother Shirley Cockrell of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brother Jon Michael Cockrell and wife Concesa of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two grandchildren James Ray Winn and Hannah Miller; nephew Johnnie Cockrell II; niece Cortney Cockrell and many other family and friends. Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 17, 2020 at 10:00 am at Parks Brothers Chapel in Stroud, Oklahoma with Mr. Larry Iles officiating. Burial will follow at Stroud Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Services in Stroud, Oklahoma.
