James "Jim" Melvin Billins Jr.

James M. 'Jim' Billins, Jr., age 69, of McLoud, OK, was born on April 5, 1944, in McAlester, OK. He was the son of James Melvin Billins, Sr. & Ruby Opal (Webb) Billins. He left this life on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, in McLoud, OK, surrounded by family and loved ones. Jim was a loving father, grandfather and husband. He was a very kind and understanding friend. He loved to help people. He volunteered his time and vehicles to help with the McLoud Food Pantry. He had a love for life and a need to help people. Jim was a jet engine inspector at Tinker AFB, retiring after 35 years. He was involved in the Neighborhood Watch program, supporter of the FOP and attended Minneha Freewill Baptist Church in McLoud. Jim was a Nascar fan, shade tree mechanic and his hobbies included fishing, watching the birds and his puppies, woodworking and carpentry. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Margaret, son, Larry Billins and 2 brothers, Roy & Bobby. Survivors include his 2 sons, Mike Billins, McLoud, OK, Gary Billins, McLoud, OK; daughter, Patricia Crockrell, McLoud, OK; brother, Melvin Billins, Nicoma Park, OK; sister & brother-in-law, Janice & Ron Roberts, Oklahoma City, OK; 7 grandchildren, Brent, Garrett, Michael, Summer, Angel, Dana & Jonathan and many other relatives and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, May 10, 2013, at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK. Interment will follow at Dale Cemetery, Dale, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
