James Edgar Kerby was born on February 2, 1943, in Prague, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Friday, January 30, 2015, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 71. Jim, the son of Charles Edgar and Vera Mae (Tower) Kerby, was a resident of Prague. He graduated from Prague High School with the Class of 1961. He married Dianne Hensley on June 26, 1965 in Lawton. Jim served in the USAF Reserve from 1964 to 1968, worked at GTE from 1962 – 1967, and retired from AT&T in 1998 following 32 years of service. Jim was a lifelong member of the Prague First Baptist Church. His parents preceded Jim in death. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Dianne Kerby of the home; sons and daughters in law, Skyler and Sandy Kerby of Houston, TX, Chad and Venita Kerby of Stroud; grandchildren, Kelby Shandy-Kerby, Abby, Wyatt, and Cody Kerby, Tyler Palmer; great-grandchildren, Hunter Shandy-Kerby, Karsyn Shandy-Kerby. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, February 2, 2015, at 2:00 PM at the Prague Cemetery in Prague with Bro. Tim Emmons and Rev. Mike Haines officiating.
