James Jim Cowboy Hixon

James Leo Hixon was born in Avery, Oklahoma on March 31, 1937 and departed this life in Stroud, Oklahoma on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the age of 72 years. James was the son of Dennis Theadore and Mary Virginia Moss Hixon. James was a resident of Stroud area all of his life. He was in the United States Navy. He married Sylvia Darlene Henderson in Stroud, Oklahoma on May 8, 1981. He worked as a Welder for John Cassidy Company for 24 years, and Gordon Brothers. He was a member of the Stroud Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 1 brother, Donavan. Survivors include, Wife, Darlene of the home, Two Sons & Daughter in Law, David & Erin Mathes of Stroud, Danny & Andrea Mathes of Davenport, Five Daughters, Darlene Vanderhagen & husband Dyrck of Broken Arrow, Jamie Hyde & husband Ronnie of Stroud, Darla Turner of Tahlequah, Chris Horning & husband Ron of Enid, Tracy Hixon of Stroud, Two Brothers, Thomas Hixon of Bethany, Dennis Hixon of Edmond, 16 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren Others relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at the Stroud Christian Church in Stroud on Friday, April 24, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Will Fine officiating. Burial will be in the Stroud Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Services in Stroud.
