James Clay Baker, a long-time Stroud, Oklahoma, resident, was born on December 28, 1913, in Stroud, and departed this life on October 8, 2003, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 89. James was the son of John and Martha Delila Ricks Baker. He married Jonnie L. Cox in Depew, Oklahoma, on June 13, 1941. He worked as an electrician, was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Stroud, and a 32nd Degree Mason. His parents, wife, four brothers, and two sisters preceded James in death. One son and daughter-in-law, Frankie and Judith Hampton Ward, 3 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren survive James. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 10, 2003, at 10:00 AM, at the First United Methodist Church in Stroud, Oklahoma, with Rev. Joe Mullencupp officiating. Burial will follow at the Stroud Cemetery in Stroud, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, Oklahoma.
