James Alvin Vinson, age 66, of Harrah, OK, was born on January 28, 1943, in Edmond, OK. He was the son of Dave Alvin & Odie Guiling Vinson. He left this life on Wednesday, May 14, 2009, in Harrah, OK. James married Betty Erbin on March 10, 1962 and they spent 47 wonderful years together. James served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He owned and operated Vinson''s Trenching for many years. James was a member of St. Mary Ukranian Orthodox Church, Harrah, OK. He enjoyed raising cattle, working, riding in the golf cart with his grandkids and spending time with his blue heeler, 'Sadie'. James was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Betty Vinson of the home; son & daughter-in-law:David & Malinda Vinson, Harrah, OK; 2 daughters & son-in-law, Tammy & Ryan Brown, Edmond, OK, Kim Rooks, Harrah, OK; 2 brothers & sisters-in-law, Ken & Bernie Vinson, Harrah, OK, Don & Kathy Vinson, Harrah, OK; sister & brother-in-law, Ruby & Larry Chartney, Harrah, OK; 7 grandchildren, Justen, Jacob, Halle, Miles, Baylee, Luke & Grady and many other relatives and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, May 18, 2009 at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK, with Father Raphael Moore officiating. Interment to follow at St. Mary Ukranian Orthodox Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
