Jake Wilfred Clinton

Jake Wilfred Clinton was born on February 8, 1925, in Bristow, OK, and departed this life on Thursday, April 5, 2006, in Meeker, OK, at the age of 81. Jake, the son of Jake Nexie and Lela Watson Clinton, was a resident of Meeker. He was in the United States Army during World War II. He served with the 2nd Ranger Battalion on Normandy Beach on D-Day. He was awarded three Purple Hearts. Jake worked as an aircraft mechanic. He married Wynema Hill in Las Vegas in 1953. His parents; one sister; and his half-brother, George Wesley Clinton, preceded Jake in death. Survivors include his wife, Wynema Clinton of the home; son, Rick Worsham of Meeker; sister, Deretha C. Buckminster of Henryetta; 2 grandchildren Richard Worsham of Owasso and Dionne R. Mobley of Oklahoma City; 5 great grandchildren; and step-mother, Ruby Naylor.
