Jack Lewis Derrick was born in Okemah, Oklahoma on March 22, 1920, and departed this life in Stroud, Oklahoma, on Sunday, February 7, 2010, at the age of 89 years. Jack, the son of George Lewis and Ollie Edna (Cooper) Derrick, was a resident of Stroud since 1957 having moved from Kansas. Jack served in the Army National Guard. He worked as an oil well completion tech for Northern Pump Company and was a member of the Deer Creek Baptist Church in Stroud. Jack married Christine Womack in Okemah, Oklahoma on May 12, 1941. Christine preceded him in death August 15, 2004. His parents, three brothers and one sister also preceded Jack in death. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Don and Sandy Derrick of Stroud; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and James McKinney of Okemah; one brother, William B. Derrick of Midwest City; seven grandchildren, Deborah Samuels and husband Tim, Suzanne Lucenta and husband Tom, Jamie Derrick, Mike McKinney, Kelly McKinney and husband David, Heather Burress and husband Josh, Brooke Bridges and husband Mike; seven great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. Expressions of sympathy made be made in Jack’s name to: Veteran Outreach International PO Box 633 Sand Spring, OK 74063 Graveside service will be held at Highland Cemetery in Okemah, Oklahoma on Friday, February 12, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Mike Haines officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, Oklahoma.
