Jack James Webb was born on December 4, 1930, in Meeker, OK, and departed this life on Tuesday, November 30, 2004, in Shawnee, OK, at the age of 73. Jack, the son of John and Martha Bingham Webb, was a resident of Shawnee. He graduated from Meeker High School with the class of 1949. He married Betty M. Simek on December 20, 1949, in Prague, OK. Jack served his country with the United States Air Force during World War II as a helicopter pilot. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base with honors in 1986 where he assisted in the design of the AWACS aircraft and many other projects. Jack loved playing gospel music for many years, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved helping others. His parents, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters preceded Jack in death. Jack will be dearly missed. Survivors include his wife of almost 55 years, Betty of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and Monty Lamb of Branson, MO, and Yalonda and David Loman of Shawnee, OK; son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Dava Webb of Jenks, OK; brothers & sister-in-law, Bernard Webb of Meeker, and Frank and Wanda Webb of Tecumseh; sisters, Twyla Kinnett of MeekerEdna Sears of Las Vegas; 7 grandchildren; 7 Great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
