J. D. Sims

J. D. Sims was born on July 13, 1936, in Crystal Springs, AR, and departed this life on Tuesday, August 24, 2004, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 68. J.D., the son of Julius and Mary Elizabeth Reich Hildreth, was a resident of Okemah. He married Shir-Loy Jean Chapman on December 16, 1957, in Tulsa. J.D. retired from the Ford Glass Plant where he was an inspector for many years. He was a member of the Friends Freewill Baptist Church in Cromwell and the Elks Lodge in Broken Arrow. His parent, a half-brother, Homer Hildreth, preceded J.D. in death. Survivors include his wife, Shir-Loy Jean Sims; son and daughter-in-law, Jay Dee and Dot Sims of Seminole; daughter, Elizabeth Sims of Meeker; grandchildren, Josh 'Jake' Sims of Meeker, Jay Dee Sims, Jr. of Seminole, Alethea Sims of Birmingham, AL, Andrea Sims of Oklahoma City; brother and sister-in-law:Ray and Belinda Hildreth; brother-in-law and his wife, Jim and Anita Chapman of Holdenville; and sister-in-law, Nora Hildreth of Talequah.
