Ivan E. Thompson

Ivan Eual Thompson was born in Deer Creek, Oklahoma on December 6, 1924 and departed this life in Stroud, Oklahoma on Monday, December 27, 2010 at the age of 86 years. Ivan was the son of Henry and Ruby (Newton) Thompson. Ivan was a resident of Stroud most of his life. Ivan was in the United States Army were he served in WW II. He married Wanda L. Hicks in Drumright, Oklahoma on July 24, 1943. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Stroud, Oklahoma and retired from Phillips Petroleum as Retail Marketing Director after 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three Brothers. Survivors included, wife, Wanda of the home, two sons, Larry Dale Thompson of Tulsa, OK, David Thompson & wife Nancy of Tulsa, OK, one brother, Cecil Thompson of Broken Arrow, OK, six grandchildren, Jeffery, Jessica, Ben, Adam, Molly, and Sam, six great grandchildren, Mairead, Bridie, Ruairi, Nuallain, Jeffery Paul & Nathen, other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Stroud, Oklahoma on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev Matthew Scraper officiating. Burial will be in the Kendrick Cemetery, Kendrick, Oklahoma under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.
