Irene Roberson

Irene Agnes Roberson, Chandler, Oklahoma, resident, was born on April 2, 1930, in Payson, Oklahoma and departed this life on July 10, 2009, in Stroud, Oklahoma, at the age of 79 years. Irene was the daughter of Cordia Thomas and Rosa Bell (Anderson) Tubbs. She married Wiley Bob Roberson on March 16, 1951 in Payson. She worked in housekeeping at the Chandler Nursing Home for many years and was a member of the Church of Christ in Meeker, Oklahoma.Her parents, husband, three sons, one daughter, two brothers and two sisters preceded Irene in death. Survivors include five sons & daughter-in-law, Calvin Roberson of Tulsa, OK, Wiley Roberson Jr. of Tulsa, OK, Archie & Alnetta Roberson of Shawnee, OK, Samuel Roberson of San Antonio, TX, Jackie Roberson of Chandler, OK. Three daughters Ineta Roberson of Wichita, KS, Delinda Roberson of Chandler, OK, Luetta Roberson of Midwest City, OK. One brotherCordia Tubbs Jr. of Edmond, OK. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, on Wednesday, July 15, 2009, in the Performing Arts Center at Chandler High School. Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery near Chandler. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
