Ira L. Davis

Ira Lee Davis, long-time Wellston, Oklahoma resident, was born on April 14, 1926, in Sasakwa, Oklahoma, and departed this life on March 24, 2006, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 79 years. Ira was the son of James Pete and Annie Mae Shores Davis. He served in the United States Army during World War II then worked as a fuel pump superintendent at Tinker Air Force Base. Ira married Betty Jones on December 9, 1950 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and was a member of the Beverly Hills Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. His parents, wife, five brothers, and one sister have preceded him in death. Survivors include one son, Billy Davis of Smyrna, Tn, two daughters, Anita Davis of Blanchard, Ok, and Jimmie Nichols of Wellston, Ok. One sister, Helen Pittman of La Vergne, Tn. Three brothers, Kenneth Davis of Okla. City, James Davis of Wewoka, Ok, and Rube Davis of Yukon, Ok. Five Grandsons, Five Great grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends.
