Imogene (Jean) Goodmon was born on January 25, 1936 at home in Love Co, OK. She went to be with the Lord on January 1, 2021 at the home of Rick and Mary Jackson in Stroud, OK. Jean was the daughter of Jeff Gardner and Ruby (Harris) Jackson. She was the oldest sibling to younger brothers Wayne, Jerry, and Rick Jackson. After her first husband, Thomas Bishop passed she was a single mother for 4 years until her son Jeffrey graduated. The very next weekend she resumed her personal life by marrying Paul Goodmon on May 27, 1982. Paul at the time was a single dad raising his own two sons Michael and David. Paul stepped in the position of a loving father graciously and happily, building them a large loving family of 5 which soon blossomed into a grand number of 24. Truly loving parents who always went above and beyond for their entire family and anyone who needed their help. Jean spent many years standing on her feet working as a hairdresser at Veta’s Beauty Shop in Stroud. She loved visiting with her customers and made many lasting friendships. Jean treasured every moment of her time with her family and friends. Most of all she treasured spending all the precious time she could with her husband Paul. She cherished reading her bible in her devotion time each day, watching Christian shows on television, listening to Christian and blue grass music, shopping, decorating her home, and collecting angels. Before her health declined, she enjoyed cooking majestic meals for everyone. She valued family gatherings, getting to see and visit with everyone. Jean was a long-time member of the Chapel of Faith Church in Stroud. She was a very loving and caring person who was always glad to help anyone that was in need. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
