Idelle Patracha Ellis

Idelle Ellis was born on August 27, 1921, near Meeker, Oklahoma, and departed this life on February 6, 2012, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 90. Idelle, the daughter of Tom and Lucy (Wilkerson) Lowe, was a long-time resident of Prague, Oklahoma. She graduated from Meeker High School in 1940. Idelle married Mancel Ellis on September 7, 1940. She worked as a nurse for over 30 years at the Prague Hospital and Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City. Idelle was a long-standing member of the Prague Auxiliary Club, during which time they raised over $80,000 for the Prague Hospital. She volunteered for many years at the election board and was a member of Prague's First Christian Church for over 50 years. Idelle was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years; daughter, Karen Suzanne Mayfield; three brothers; and one sister. Survivors include grandsons, Chuck Mayfield of Tulsa and Chris Mayfield of Edmond; 4 great-grandchildren Brycen, Jack, Connor, and Claire. Funeral services will be held on February 9, 2012 at 10:00 AM, at the First Christian Church in Prague with Pastor Susan Payne officiating.
