Ida Kathyrn Cook

Ida Kathryn Cook was born in Prague, Oklahoma on August 5, 1928 and departed this life in Stroud, Oklahoma on September 11, 2015 at the age of 87 years. Kaythryn was the daughter of Frank and Georgia Moriza (Smith) Frizzell. She was a resident of Stroud for most of her life. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Stroud. She married Jack Cook on July 16, 1950 in Prague, Oklahoma. Kathryn led a very active life. She worked for Kitchen Oil Company for over 20 years, she owned and operated the Tag Agency and worked for Parks Brothers Funeral Services for many years. In addition to those jobs she was also selected as Stroud's Citizen of the year in 2005, was the President of the Stroud Food Pantry, Active in the Senior Citizens. She also served with the American Red Cross and was a member of the Red Hat Society. Kathryn also worked for the County Election Board and was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Association. Kathryn was also a Member of the Silver Haired Legislature. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister. Survivors include, A son Billy Mack Cook of Warner, Oklahoma, one daughter Peggy Smith of Stroud, Oklahoma, four grandchildren, Josh, Angel, Misti, and Mandi, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Other relatives and many friends. The Family requests that donations be made to the Stroud Food Bank: Back Pack Program. Funeral service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Stroud, Oklahoma on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Ge'rard Nsabimana officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, OK.
