Howard L. Keel

Howard L. Keel was born on January 2, 1933, in Tulsa, OK, and departed this life on Saturday, January 29, 2005, in Meeker, OK, at the age of 72. Howard, the son of Roy Elvest and Sophia Emily McEntire Keel, was a long-time resident of Meeker. He was president of his graduating class from Meeker High School. He then served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Howard married Joan Nichols on June 14, 1958, in Norwalk, CA. He was a dairy farmer and a member of Living Waters Tabernacle. His parents, 1 sister, and 1 granddaughter preceded Howard in death. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Joan of the home;sons and daughters-in-law, John and Karen Culwell of Sherman, TX, Robert and Jannette Culwell of Meeker, Kenneth Ray and Lisa Keel of Meeker, David Keel of Sparks; Daughters and son in-law, Barbara Dickens of Shawnee, Patricia and Stanely Doss of Meeker, Jane Evans of Arlington, TX; Sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Jack Smith of Meeker, Georgia and George Crum of Jay; 19 Grandchildren; 5 Great-grandchildren; special friends, J.D. and Lavonne Devereaux and Sue and Richard Green; and many other nieces, nephews, and friends.
