Homer Virgil Pool

Former Wellston resident Homer Virgil Pool died September 12, 2008, in Schertz, Texas. He was born November 10, 1914, near Warwick, to Luther and Hattie Pinkston Pool. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. Homer married Bonnie Wolf on July 7, 1942. He worked at Tinker Field and later became a rural mail carrier at Wellston. Homer was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie and one son, Stephen Pool. His sister, Grace Muns, and brothers, Glenn Wesley Pool, Earl Pool, and Francis Pool also preceded him in death. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and David Burleson of San Antonio and Nancy and Danny West of Vernon, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and KaRon Pool of Catoosa; five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 11:00AM, Saturday, September 20, at Parks Brothers Chapel in Chandler with Bro. Danny Napier officiating. Burial will follow at Star Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the following: Fellowship Bible Church, 133 Brookhollow, New Braunfels, TX 78132 funds will be distributed to New Tribes Mission, and similar organizations or The Children''s Center, Donald W Reynolds Complex, 6800 NW 39th Expressway, Bethany, OK 73008.
