Hershell Clyde King

Hershell Clyde King was born on September 26, 1927, in Carney Oklahoma, and departed this life on Saturday January 19, 2013, in Shawnee Oklahoma, at the age of 85. Hershell, the son of Lloyd and Nina (Wilson) King, was a resident of Meeker. He married Dolores Gallaway on March 16, 1949, in Borger Texas. Hershell was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charles Emmitt. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Dolores of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Hershell Wayne and Pam King of Meeker, and Paul Gregory and Pam King of Edmond; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberley and Karl Erdman of Meeker; one grandson, Kole Erdman of Meeker; one sister and brother-in-law, Rosalee and George 'Lueby' Popoff of Oro Valley Arizona, and many other friends and family The King family will receive friends at Parks Brothers Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 1:30 PM, at the First Christian Church in Meeker with Brother Jim Whorton officiating. Interment will follow at Carney Cemetery.
