Long-time Prague resident, Hershel Glen Seaton, was born on May 3, 1927, in Marietta, OK, and departed this life on Thursday, November 10, 2005, in Bixby, OK, at the age of 78. Hershel, the son of Sammy Ulysses and Sylvia Hull Seaton, was a life-long resident of Lincoln County. He married Ruth Nadine Johnson on July 10, 1947 in Reno, NV. She preceded him in death on April 11, 1987. Hershel served his country overseas with the United States Army during the Korean conflict. His was a retired welder and a well-known musician. Hershel played in bands for many years at Sr. Citizen?s centers, nursing homes, benefits, etc. For the past 5 years, his band, Lazy S Wranglers, played at the Sr. Citizen?s Center in Prague. He also played with the Thursday Night Band for many years. Hershel was a member of the VFW, View of the Cross Church, and the Prague Roundup Club. His parents; one daughter, Karen Sue; and three brothers; two sisters; one grandson; and his lifelong friend, J.D. Friend, also preceded Hershel in death. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Glen Allen and Gayla Seaton of Bixby, Eddy and Carol Seaton of Bixby; daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Ray Littleton of Prague, Penny and Gary Veitenheimer of Cromwell, Bonnie and Roger Smith of Prague; brother and sister-in-law, L.J. 'Dick' and Mary Seaton of Paden; sisters, Inez McKinnon of Bokchito, Kate Hembree of Shawnee, Helen Seaton of Midwest City; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and special companion and fishin? buddy, Irene Coomer.
