Helen Marie Houser Farino was born September 19, 1921 the daughter of David and Dora (Eichholtz) Houser southeast of Choctaw, Oklahoma on a family farm and spent the next 80 years of life living within a half mile of her family farm. She moved to Harrah, Oklahoma in her later years, remaining there until passing away on Saturday, July 22, 2017. Helen was the only child of the Houser family born in Oklahoma. The family moved to Choctaw in the year 1919 from Payne, Paulding, Ohio. Her four siblings, Alice Lillian Rachels, Elizabeth Margaret Lowe, Lucy Catherine Neiman and William David 'Bill' Houser were all born in Ohio. She learned to sew at her mother's knee and was an expert seamstress, making clothes for her family and was a member of the Good Neighbors Home Demonstration Club. She liked antiques and going to garage sales, looking for a new treasure. In later years, she enjoyed playing bingo. 1942 brought a change to her life when she met and married Mr. Frank Farino. They spent the next 54 years together before Frank passed away on May 11, 1996. Frank and Helen were blessed with two children, a son, Larry Franklin Farino and a daughter, Linda Farino. In addition to her husband, Helen was preceded in death by her son, Larry Franklin in 1955 at the age of 11; her parents, David and Dora Eichholtz Houser; three sisters, Alice Lillian Rachels Prentest, Elizabeth Margaret Lowe, Lucy Catherine Neiman; and one brother, William David Houser.
