Helen M. Walker

Helen M. Walker was born on June 18, 1924, in Meeker, OK, and departed this life on Wednesday, September 22, 2004, at her home in Meeker at the age of 80. Helen, the daughter of Herbert and Mable Lydia Johnson Holder, lived in Meeker most of her life. She married S. W. Walker on October 2, 1944 in Aydelotte, OK. He preceded her in death on December 7, 1998. Helen was a homemaker, a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary #1317 of Shawnee, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Meeker. Her parents; one son, William E. Walker; sister; and brother also preceded Helen in death. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, John and Carol Walker of Meeker and James and Viola Walker of McLoud; daughter, Fern Walker of Meeker; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Lola Holder of Enid; sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Cecil Landes of Ponca City; 10 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
