Helen Julianna Mayer

Helen Julianna Mayer, age 95, of Harrah, OK was born December 21, 1921, in North Little Rock, AR. She was the daughter of Isidore & Victoria (Malecki) Strozyk She left this life on Friday, February 24, 2017, in Midwest City, OK. Helen married Stanley J. Mayer on February 6, 1940, in Harrah, OK. Aside from her beautiful blue eyes and smile, she was known for being an excellent seamstress, sewing most of her daughters clothing. She sometimes created them from her own ideas. Others who knew of her ability sought her out to sew and alter clothing. She was a wonderful cook, something her family and herself really missed when she was no longer able. Most of all she was very proud of her family and what we have all become. The residents at Fountain Brook enjoyed her quirky sense of humor. Helen was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Harrah, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and one brother. She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Stanley, Jr. & Diana Mayer, Newalla, OK; 2 daughters & sons-in-law, Geneva & Doyle Sitton, Oklahoma City, OK, Angeline & James Breske, Harrah, OK; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Fountain Brook for their wonderful care. Rosary and Wake will be 6:40 P.M., Monday, February 27, 2017, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Harrah, OK. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Harrah, OK. Interment will follow at St. Teresa Catholic Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
