Helen Jane Watkins

Helen Jane Watkins was born on February 12, 1930, in Paden, and departed this life on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, in Midwest City, Oklahoma, at the age of 88. Jane, the daughter of Lon and Ollie (Pruitt) Davis, was a long time resident of Choctaw. She was proud of her responsibilities caring for and raising the families’ chickens and had a favorite chicken named Eb. Jane played basketball in school and maintained a love for the sport. In her early years she worked at the Highway Caf. She married Kenneth Charles Watkins on March 5, 1949. She was a devoted wife and mother and was very committed to helping with any of her children’s activities in school including helping with the PTA, working in the cafeteria and ballgames. While her daughter was in dance, Jane spent many hours sewing dance costumes. She enjoyed quilting and crafting. She loved her dogs T.J. and Little Dandy. Jane was preceded in death by her parents; son, Charles Randall Watkins; brothers, Paul, Brown Lee and Kenneth “Buck” Davis and sisters, Marie Looper and Edna Roberson. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Charles Watkins, of the home; son, Leland Keith Watkins, of Choctaw; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Steven Caldwell of Tulsa; grandchildren, Michael Sean and Tammy Watkins, of CA, Travis Wade and Sarah Watkins, of Perkins, Jill and Shannon Latham of Sapulpa, Patrick Ryan and Sarah Caldwell of Tulsa; 11 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Jim Roberson of Ada; daughter-in-law, Yvette Watkins of Sapulpa; numerous nieces and nephews and several other family and friends. The Watkins family will receive friends on Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 10:00 am, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Travis Wade Watkins officiating.
