Helen J. Pitman, of Miami, OK, died Friday, September 3, 2004, at her home after a long illness. She was 65 years of age. She was born March 23, 1939, at Harrah, Oklahoma, to Ralph and Zenobia Koonce White. She was a 1957 graduate of Harrah High School in Harrah, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Miami, OK, and a member of Aglow International Choctaw Chapter. She married Truman Pitman at Nicoma Park, Oklahoma, on January 25, 1965. Survivors include her husband, Truman Pitman, of the home; three daughters, Connie Handley, Midwest City, OK, Debbie Walker, Newalla, OK, Beth Anderson, Miami, OK; two step-daughters, Marlene Haley, Harrah, OK, Nancy Newberry, Harrah, OK; parents, Ralph and Zenobia White, Harrah, OK; four sisters, Carolyn Willis, Elk City, OK, Shirley Frost, Meeker, OK, Judy White, Arvada, CO, Bette Davies, Beaverton, OR; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 7, 2004, at 1:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Harrah, Oklahoma, with Pastor Steve Eden officiating. Pallbearers will be Gene Anderson, Howard Pitman, David Anderson, David Dye, Tab Frost, and Syd Terry. Interment will follow at Dale Cemetery in Dale, Oklahoma.
