Helen Beatrice Arrington

Helen Arrington, long time Stroud resident, was born October 6, 1926 in Stroud, OK and departed this life September 18, 2021 at the age of 94 years. Helen was born to Wilbur and Opal (Hulsey) Harmon. She was a 1944 graduate of Stroud High School then went to Alexandria, LA and received a nursing degree in 1947. Living and working there for many years then moving back to Oklahoma for remainder of her life. Helen even became a nursing home inspector and went into nursing homes to let them know what they could improve on. Her no nonsense attitude allowed her to do her job very well. Helen enjoyed many things including quilting, sewing, crocheting, writing and playing music. Helen is preceded in death by her parents Wilbur and Opal Harmon and her husband Wesley L Arrington; her brother Neal Harmon and sister Gayle Crowe. Helen is survived by her son Patrick Sparrow; daughter Elizabeth Halgren, brother Vernon Harmon and many other relatives and friends. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am, on September 24, 2021 at United Pentecostal Church in Stroud, OK with Pastor Greg Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Stroud Cemetery.
