Hazel Standridge, Stroud, Oklahoma, resident was born on December 10, 1921 in Dustin, Oklahoma and departed this life on April 8, 2004, in Stroud, Oklahoma, at the age of 82 years. Hazel was the daughter of James Lemuel and Clarice King Standridge. Hazel was a retired schoolteacher, who taught at the Davenport, Okmulgee, Henryetta, and Dustin schools. She was active in the Delta Kappa Gamma, Retired Teachers Association, Lincoln County Historical Society, and was named Stroud Teacher of the Year and Woman of the Year. Hazel was a soloist and was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Stroud. Her parents and three sisters, Opal, Gerry and Nelva, preceded Hazel in death. Survivors include: One brother: James Dal Standridge of Henryetta, OK; One sister: Martha Branham-Watson of Dallas, TX; 4 nieces and 3 nephews; Other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, April 12, 2004, at the First Baptist Church in Stroud, Oklahoma, with Dr. Burl E. Mackey officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 P.M. in the Dustin Cemetery in Dustin, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of the Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.
