Hazel J. Lowber

Hazel Jewel Lowber, Harrah, OK, age 91, was born on June 13, 1917, in Walnut, Arkansas. She was the daughter of John Francis & Molly Swain Ashlock. She departed this life on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, in McAlester, OK. In 1935, Hazel graduated from high school in Clarksville, AR. After graduation, she moved with her mother to Shawnee, OK and then to Oklahoma City where she worked as a cashier. She worked at Tinker AFB/Douglas Aircraft from 1944 to 1945 and 1963 to 1970. On February 9, 1946, she married Perry Ivan Lowber. Hazel was a member of the Harrah First Baptist Church and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed bowling, reading her bible and listening to bible tapes. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Terry Lowber, 3 brothers, E. H., Orbin & Earl Ashlock and a grandson, Aaron Lowber. Survivors include 3 sons & daughters-in-law, Jerry & Linda Lowber, Harrah, OK, Tommy & Donna Lowber, Meeker, OK, Mike & Linda Lowber, McAlester, OK; 6 6 grandchildren & spouses, Julie & Ed Hubkey, Eric & Tara Lowber, Angela & Marty Schroeder, Adam & Cheryl Lowber, Anna Lowber, Autumn & Travis Gunnells; 4 great-grandchildren, Kasey & Natalie Hubkey, Eric Lowber, Jr., Samantha Jewel Schroeder and many other relatives and friends. Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, May 16, 2009, at the First Baptist Church, Harrah, OK, with Rev. Gary Eubanks officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Oklahoma City, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
