Hazel Frances Garrett

Hazel ?Frances? Garrett, 93, of Newalla, OK died peacefully December 7, 2006. She was born on March 7, 1913 in Tryon, OK, to Walter & Kathryn Clelland Anderson. Frances married Thomas Benjamin Garrett on January 20, 1935 in Chandler, OK. She was a loving and caring homemaker with a passion for gardening, reading and family. She was a long time member of Wilmont Place Baptist Church in OKC and later a member at the First Baptist Church of Newalla. Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 35 years; her son, Charles Garrett; daughter, Lilly Clevenger; 4 brothers, Cyril, Bert, Minor, Howard and sister, Lorena. Survivors include her brother, Hubert Anderson & wife Florence of Del Rio, TX; 3 daughters, Georgia Forehand of McLoud, OK, Rena Kay Sheets & husband Dave of Dahinda, IL, Becky Hicks and husband Johnny of Mineral Wells, TX; 3 sons, Thomas Garrett of Owensboro, KY, James Garrett and wife Sammie of Newalla, OK, Douglas Garrett and wife, Lou Ann of Amarillo, TX; daughter-in-law, Pauline Garrett of McLoud, OK; 19 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be between 10am and 9pm on Monday, December 11th at Smith-Parks Funeral Service at 2039 N. Tim Holt Dr., Harrah, OK. The family will receive guests for viewing between 6pm and 9pm. Services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, December 12th at the First Baptist Church of Newalla, 20800 SE 59th. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 8701 N.W. Expwy, OKC. Services are under the direction of Smith-Parks Funeral Service, Harrah, OK.
