Harvey William Mayfield was born on January 26, 1923, in Paden, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Wednesday, January 18, 2012, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 88. Harvey, the son of Frank and Maggie Matilda (Maynard) Mayfield, was a resident of the Paden area all his life. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He married Dorothy Lee Williams on June 26, 1948 in Okemah, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on January 17, 2009. Harvey worked as a roughneck in the oilfield and was a member of the Burnett Mission Church. His parents; one son, Steve Mayfield; one daughter, Katheryn Mayfield; three brothers; and one sister, also preceded Harvey in death. Survivors include daughter, Gayle Mayfield of Norfolk, VA; son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Janet Mayfield of Prague; daughter-in-law, Debbie Mayfield of Prague; brothers and sister-in-law, Ray Mayfield of Paden, Vester and Opal Mayfield of Paden; sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice and G.W. Coward of Sallisaw, Dorothy and Paul Heard of Paden; brother-in-law, Morris Brown of Paden; sisters-in-law, Hazel Mayfield of Paden, Thelma Mayfield of Prague. The Mayfield family will receive friends at Parks Brothers Funeral Home on Friday evening, January 20, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 2:00 PM, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Bro. Paul Heard officiating. Interment will follow at the Paden Cemetery in Paden.
