Harold Hemphill Hall, Jr.

Harold 'Buddy' Hall was born May 2, 1933 in Charlotte, NC. The youngest of 4 children and the only son of Harold Hemphill & Annie (Wallace) Hall, he 'sailed' in eternal life on Feb. 10, 2014. While serving in the 9th Air Force Band, Harold married Janie Valentine on Dec. 16, 1956. They began raising a family and Harold graduated Highway Patrol Academy and was assigned to Salisbury, NC. Then life took several turns. While working with youth at church, God called him and Janie to be support members with Wycliffe Bible Translators, first in Mexico and then Oklahoma City. Harold earned his Master's degree from UCO and worked as a School Psychologist with Putnam City Schools for 18 years. Harold enjoyed many hobbies including amateur radio (call sign: KA5AGM), camping, hiking, motorcycling, photography and sailing. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Janie Van Buren and Martha Fesmire; and one son, Thomas Harold Hall. He is survived by: wife, Janie Hall; Cara & John Robertson; Michael, Kellie & Cameron Ragland; and Mandi Ragland. Memorials may be made to Wycliffe Bible Translators (PO Box 628, Orlando, Florida 32862-8200) or Gideons International. Services will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, Feb 12, 2014 at Harrah United Methodist Church, 2224 N. Harrison, Harrah, OK. Interment will follow at 3:30 pm at Resurrection Cemetery, Ok City. A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, Feb 15, 2014 at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 7201 Britton Rd, Ok City. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
