Harold Caruthers

Harold Lynn Caruthers long-time Davenport, Oklahoma resident was born October 24th 1933 in Mud College Oklahoma, he departed this life on October 2, 2019, in Stroud, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years. Harold was the son of Marie Smith and Roland Caruthers. He attended Davenport Public Schools and graduated in 1954. Shortly after graduation Harold met, Selva Wuanita Jordan and they married on September 30th 1955. On March 8th 1956, Harold joined the United States Army and was honorably discharged November 5th, 1957. Following his return from the Army they had a child, Jerry Lynn Caruthers born October 6th, 1963. Harold worked most of the time for Turner Turnpike until he retired. Harold and Selva adopted three beautiful children Robert, Jessica, and Daniel Goforth, August 1979, and that became their permanent home. Harold loved gardening with a passion. That was his biggest Hobby. He lived a full life taking care of his loving wife and anyone he ever loved. Harold was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Selva; and one son Jerry Caruthers. Survivors include his children, Robert and Alicia Goforth, Jessica Goforth, Daniel and Jamie Goforth; his grandchildren, Zach, Lucus, Jazmen, Alice, Nika, Daniel, Colin, Ethan, Madison, Austin, Titus, and great-grand children, other relatives and many friends. The Caruthers family will be receiving friends and family at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Chandler, Oklahoma, Sunday, October 6, 2019, 5:00PM to 7:00PM. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM, Monday, October 7, 2019, at the Kendrick Assembly of God Church, with Rev. Rocky Williams officiating. Burial to follow at Kellerby Cemetery, north of Prague. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
