Harlan D. Gurney

Harlan D. Gurney was born in Cleveland, Oklahoma on November 5, 1912, and departed this life in Stroud, Oklahoma on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at the age of 96 years. Harlan was the son of Harry and Julia Cheek Gurney. Harlan was a resident of Stroud, Oklahoma. Harlan was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stroud and worked in the oil field. He married Mary Ruth Payne in Cleveland, Oklahoma on October 25, 1936. She preceded him in death on May 5, 1993and also preceded her in death by parents, and 2 sisters. Survivors include, One Daughter, Jan Mace of Mobile, AL, Three Grandchildren, Mark Mace, Martha Thomas, and Paula Mace, Two Great Grandchildren, Chris Mace and Brianna Mace. Funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Stroud, Oklahoma on Friday, February 27, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. with Dr. Burl Mackey officiating. Burial will be in the Cleveland Cemetery, Cleveland, OK at 1:30 P.M. under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, Oklahoma.
