Hannah Peggy Johnson, Shawnee, Oklahoma resident was born April 11, 1924, in Millville, New Jersey. She claimed God’s promise on October 20,2020, in Shawnee at the age of 96 years. Peggy was the daughter of Waldo Emerson and Bertha Mae (Surran) Faulkner. She was reared in Blue Mountain Lake and attended school a short distance away in Indiantown, NY. Peggy married Richard Johnson, a WWII Combat Marine in August 1944 in Sacramento, CA. They moved to Oklahoma with their eldest sons in 1950. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years in Shawnee, enjoying family, friends and outdoor activities, including many family camping trips, and holiday gatherings. Peggy was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Shawnee. Her parents, husband, and one daughter; Wanemah preceded Peggy in death. Survivors include a sister, Patti Burdine of Mobile, Alabama, three sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Richard Jr. and Sue Johnson of Shawnee, Oklahoma, David Johnson of Flat Lake, Montana, Mike and Mitzi Johnson of San Antonio, Texas, son-in-law, Sam Edge of Laona, Wisconsin, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. It was an honor to be loved and cherished by her. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
