Gysgt Harry Rasmussen

Harry Rasmussen was born in Omaha, Nebraska on September 7, 1941 and departed this life in Stroud, Oklahoma on Friday, August 2, 2013 at the age of 71 years. Harry was the son of Rudy and Anna Marie (Nielsen) Rasmussen. Harry was a resident of Stroud for many years. GySgt Rasmussen serviced in the United States Marine Corp for over 21 years with two tours in Vietnam. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church near Cushing, Oklahoma and was married to Madeline Meeker on March 23, 1966. He was preceded in death by his father, step-father and one son, Brian Lee Rasmussen. Survivors include, wife, Madeline Rasmussen of the home, mother, Anna Marie Rasmussen of Lincoln, NE, two sons & daughters-in-laws, Roy & Marcy Rasmussen of Stroud, OK, Brent & Donna Rasmussen of Stroud, OK, one daughter & son-in-law, Renee & Clayton Smith of Mounds, OK, two brothers, Rev. Howard Rasmussen of Lincoln NE, Capt. James Rasmussen USMC Ret. of Cary, NC, one sister, Nora Jean Deepe of Mesa, AZ, twelve grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church near Cushing, Oklahoma on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Cheryll Armstrong-Kaukis officiating. Burial will follow at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Service are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, Oklahoma.
