Prague resident Grace Mabel States, 101, died Friday, April 9, 2004, at Parkland Manor in Prague. She was born September 12, 1902, in Shirley, Arkansas to Joseph and Tabitha Guffey. She came with her parents to Oklahoma in 1910 and settled in the Prague area. Grace graduated from college at Keene, Texas, and taught in both private and public schools at Plover Hill, Johnson, Prairie Dale, and Bellmont, Oklahoma and at Benton, Arkansas. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Shawnee. Her parents; husband, Henry States; two brothers; one sister; one son; one granddaughter; one great granddaughter; and one son-in-law preceded Grace in death. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Wayne 'Bob' and Glenda States of Prague, Jerry and Pat States of Shawnee; daughters and son-in-law: Norma Walden of Muskogee, Velma and Orvil Harris of Prague; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren.
