Gordon L Rice

Gordon ?Corkey? L. Rice, age 73, was born on April 10, 1931, in El Reno, OK, and departed this life on Wednesday, October 13, 2004, in Oklahoma City, OK. Corkey was the son of Alonzo E. & Eva May Leverett Rice. He graduated from Harrah High School in 1949 and married Jean Ferguson in 1951. He enlisted and served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. Corkey was an engineer for AT&T. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking. Corkey was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Glen, Carl and Lonzo; and one sister, Edith. Survivors include his wife, Jean Rice, Oklahoma City, OK; 2 daughters, Cynthya Lynne Rice, San Jose, CA, Sandra Lea Rice-Romero, Diamond Springs, CA; 1 brother, Marvin Wayne Rice, Oak Grove, TN; 1 sister, Ethel Donham, Midwest City, OK; 3 grandchildren, Marcus Alexander Romero, Jordan Anthony Romero, Shelby Taylor Romero; nephew, Boyd Dean Rice and many other relatives and friends. Services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, October 16, 2004, at Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK, with Dr. Milton Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
