Gloria June Mendenhall

Gloria June (Troyer) Mendenhall of Chandler, OK passed peacefully from this life into the loving arms of Jesus in the early morning of October 31, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on September 17, 1930, in Barnsdall, Oklahoma to Basil and Grace (Snyder) Troyer. Gloria grew up in Davenport, Oklahoma and graduated from Davenport High School in 1948. She was a telephone operator in Chandler, OK from 1950-1963.

Gloria met Earnest Boyd Mendenhall of Chandler, Ok and her heart was forever his. They wed on October 10, 1948, and for 63 years they built a wonderful life full of adventure and travel.

There was never a shortage of stories for Gloria to tell, but the most memorable was the day she was healed from cancer in 1982 by the power of prayer led by Zaydee Moreland of Ardmore, Oklahoma. She would share her testimony with anyone who would listen. Gloria June was a faith filled prayer warrior until the very end. There is no doubt that she heard “well done, good and faithful servant.”

Gloria leaves behind two sons Chris (Pat) and Jerry Mendenhall; grandsons Michael and Steven (Amy) Mendenhall; David and Jason (Heather) Mendenhall; great grandsons Izayah, Jonah, Cole, Dakota, and Garret Mendenhall; great-great grandson Austin Mendenhall.

She was preceded in death by her husband Earnest; parents Basil and Grace Troyer; Siblings Shirley Cockrell, Sharlene Applegate, and Dick Troyer; and daughter- in- law Sharon Mendenhall.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at New Beginnings 102 E Main, Davenport, Oklahoma
