Funeral services for Glenn Smith of Enid, Oklahoma, will be on Thursday, May 7, 2009, at 2:00 PM at the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague, Oklahoma. Rev. Don Johnson of Central Christian Church in Enid will officiate with burial in the Prague Cemetery. Glenn was born on September 17, 1924, in Prague to Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Smith and passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2009, in Enid, Oklahoma after a short illness. He graduated from Paden High School in 1942. He married Oneta Musgrove on September 30, 1944, in Crockett, California and they would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this September. For 35 years, Glenn was employed with the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety where he was a communication operator, supervisor for the Communications Department and director of the Services and Record Department, retiring in 1985. From 1975 to 2001, Glenn served on the Board of the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety Credit Union. During this time, Glenn and his family lived in Edmond, Oklahoma. While living in Edmond, he was a charter member and trustee of the Highland Park Baptist Church of Edmond. In 1995, Glenn and his wife moved to Enid to be closer to their daughter. At the time of his death, he was a member of Central Christian Church in Enid. Glenn will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and brother, and a great and loyal friend. His parents and three older brothers, Bill, Herman, and Carl, preceded Glenn in death Survivors include his wife Neta Smith of the home; daughter and son-in-lawSheri and Finley Porterfield of Enid; two step-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law Hubert and Donna Smith of Prague and Herbert and Sue Smith of Prague; sisters-in-lawDoris Smith of Prague and Nelda Smith of Prague; brother-in-law C. H. Musgrove of Riverside, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Memorials may be made to: Baptist Children''s Home 16301 S.
