Glenda Rae Lockwood was born on January 13, 1945, in Pawnee, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, in Stillwater Oklahoma, at the age of 72. Glenda, the daughter of Frank and Martha Blanche (Focht) Shell, was a resident of Glencoe, Oklahoma. She attended schools at Star A Star in Glencoe, Glencoe Public Schools, Claremore Jr. College, and Northeastern University in Tahlequah, earning both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. Glenda and her husband Gene were united in marriage on June 16, 1962. Glenda taught for over 30 years at several schools, including Justus, Meeker, and Pawnee, retiring in 2007. Her hobbies included reading, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and especially her great grandchildren as their Mamo. Corky was also the rock behind Gene’s 30-year career with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Glenda’s parents and daughter, Gina Michelle Lockwood preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, Gene Lockwood, of the home; sons and daughters-in-law Shawn and Kelly Lockwood of Glencoe, and Justin and Julie Lockwood of Prague; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joan and Fred Clark of Glencoe, Jean and Merle Stokes of Glencoe, and Donna and Ted Matlock of Prue; grandchildren Amanda Fisher and husband Ben of Chester, Cody Lockwood of Glencoe, Quint Lockwood of Prague, and Kurt Lockwood of Richmond, VA; great-grandchildren, Caleb and Coleman Lockwood of Cushing, and Addison, Kiowa, and Kamon Fisher of Chester. Visitation will be at Strode Funeral Home in Stillwater on Thursday July 27, 2017, from 12-9pm and Friday July 28, 2017, from 8am-9pm. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at 10:00 am, at Glencoe Church of Christ with Curt Anderson and Chaplain Sam Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Glencoe. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
