Glen M. Reeder, Chandler, Oklahoma, resident, was born on July 28, 1921, in Milfay, Oklahoma, and departed this life on December 18, 2003, in Stroud, Oklahoma, at the age of 82 years. Glen was the son of David and Minnie Seabolt Reeder. Glen served in the United States Navy Air Corp during World War II, and then retired from the Oklahoma National Guard after 36 years of service. After completing his military service he became a teacher, coach and official. He retired from the Chandler Public Schools in 1984. Glen was a member of the First Christian Church, American Legion for over 52 years, Chandler Lions Club, Masonic Lodge, Scoutmaster, Old Armory Restorers, Chandler Chamber of Commerce Ambassador, Lincoln County Historical Society, Chandler Alumni Association, N.E.A. and O.E.A., Retired Educators of Lincoln County, and attended the Oklahoma American Legion Boys State for 42 years as a counselor and formation officer. His honors include: teacher of the year, coach of the 1962 CHS girls softball state champion team, Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association Officials Hall of Fame 2003, the Glen Reeder High School Baseball Field named in his honor, 1995 Chandler Alumni of the year, a graduate and on the alumni board of the University of Central Oklahoma, and a graduate of Oklahoma State University and a very avid fan and supporter. His parents, three brothers and three sisters preceded Glen in death. Survivors include his wife, Aurilla Reeder of the home; son & daughter-in-law; Steve & Stacey Reeder of Tombstone, AZ;one daughter, Fran Strawhun of San Antonio, Texas; two brothers & sisters-in-law, Jimmy & Billie Reeder of Tulsa, Okla., Joe & Donna Reeder of Hulbert, Okla.; three grandchildren, Lincoln Strawhun of San Antonio, Texas, Dustin Reeder of Phoenix, AZ, Michael Reeder of San Francisco, California; other relatives and many friends. Memorials may be made to the Lincoln County Arts & Humanity for the Armory Project % Union Nation Bank in Chandler, Oklahoma 74834. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 23, 2003, at the Chandler High School Gymnasium in Chandler, Oklahoma, with Rev. Fred B.Rider officiating. Burial will follow at the Stroud Cemetery, in Stroud, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Chandler.
