Glen Howard Walters

Glen Howard Walters was born on December 15, 1942, in Eufaula, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Saturday, January 10, 2015, in Norman, Oklahoma, at the age of 72. Glen, the son of Jack and Canna Doris (Jones) Walters, was a resident of Norman. He graduated from Eufaula High School with the Class of 1961. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from OBU in 1974. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He spent 40 years in the ministry working his last years at HIS Church in Meeker, which he started in 2007. He also worked at Oklahoma Baptist University for several years. Glen was an avid bass fisherman, never met a stranger, and always wanted to hear the story of your life. He especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, Adara Bates. Glen’s parents, and brother, Stanley, preceded him in death. Survivors include: daughters, Laura Winters of Moore, Kersten Shands of Ft. Worth, Karissa Bates of Moore and Mica Walters and her partner, Daren Anderson of Norman; grandchildren, Adara Bates of Moore, Elle Winters of Moore and KayLynn Shands of Ft. Worth; brothers, Lee Walters and Lois of Harrah and Jack Walters and Wendy of Muscatine, IA; other family and friends. The Walters family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Meeker. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Meeker Assembly of God in Meeker with Dave Price officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
